The first Home in Homebaked

Training programme design and build
Role: Process design, mentor trainees
Six months training programme as part of Homebaked CLT asset development programme phase 2, funded by Power to Change and delivered in partnership with Rotunda College.
With Architectural Emporium, Nicoals Henniger (Office for Crafted Architecture), Paul Hardcombe, Andrew Beattie, Samantha Jones and Allan Melia.
Homebaked CLT refurbished the flat above the bakery at 195 – 197 Oakfield Rd, including the replacement of the roof on the entire building. The flat hadn’t been lived in for over 50 years, so the work needed was quite extensive.
Homebaked CLT delivered a six month training programme for three young people from the area. The trainees worked together with training lead and mentor Britt Jürgensen, builder and artist Paul Hardcombe and designer-builder Nicolas Henninger on finishes and furniture. One of the trainees went into architecture training at Central St. Martin's.
The final outcome is now a beautiful shared flat for four people above the bakery – with a view of the kop!
