Habitorials
Packaged in the format of a show home coffee table lifestyle magazine, Habitorials are a growing series of individual and collective stories contributed by residents of Trumpington, formerly an agricultural village on the outskirts of Cambridge, now one of the biggest new-build developments in the area. They are real stories about living in this place - about home and a sense of belonging, memories of the past and desires for the future, day-to-day living, worries, hopes, gardens, kitchens, chicken and change.
A Show Home for Real Living
Inspired by the Royal Show – the UK’s premier agricultural event, which was hosted on the very land that is now home to many new residents in Trumpington – the artist team took over the Countryside Properties Show Home as a space for situations, encounters, negotiations and possibilities that rise to the surface in a process of change. The Show Home became a Public Home offering pub nights, garden events, film screenings, public assemblies and space for neighbours to meet, discuss, celebrate & develop ideas for a changing community.
